ISCORMA-1 Awards
The Awards Dinner was held the evening of 23 August in the ballroom at the Embassy Suites. Among the awards given were the following:
- Walter Evans Award, a platinum medal and plaque, awarded to Robert H. Cannon, Jr., Stanford University, Stanford, California, USA, for his many contributions to the field of rotating machinery and rotor dynamics. He was unable to attend to accept the award.
- Outstanding Research Paper, “Determination of Contact Forces During Rubbing Considering Blade Dynamics,” awarded to coauthors, Prof. Dr. Heinz Ulbrich of Institute of Mechatronics, Germany, and Jan Ahrens, University of Essen, Germany.
- Outstanding Field Case History, “Vibration and Stability of 3000 HP Titanium Construction Chemical Process Blower,” awarded to coauthors, Les Gutzwiller of Robinson Industries, Zelienople, Pennsylvania, USA, and Mark Corbo of No Bull Engineering, Delmar, New York, USA.
